Sheffield Alcohol Support Service (SASS) did providing community alcohol services in Sheffield since it formed in 1978. SASS was a registered charity (1087215) and limited company (3870000), governed by a board of trustees from this website. There new site is http://www.sheffieldalcoholsupportservice.org.uk
SASS’ projects are all designed to work towards the aim of enabling people to change their lives through a range of specialist alcohol, drug and family services. They complement each other, with an overlap of services providing clients with access to the most relevant support no matter what route they were originally referred through.

- The Alcohol Recovery Community – uses an asset-based community model to bridge the gap between treatment and the outside world. The service provides activities with a focus on: peer recovery support; health and wellbeing; lifestyle and independence; training and development.
- Waypoint – a social enterprise training project operating within SASS. Waypoint delivers a range of training to organisations and individuals working with vulnerable people. Their particular specialism is substance misuse and working with drug and alcohol users.
- Families Together – is an innovative project, working in partnership with Sheffield Children, Young People and Families Services, to support families where there is significant risk of the children having to be accommodated.
